Do These Spot Treatments Actually Work?

Waking up in the morning, to find that yet another spot has appeared on your face. Even though you've did your usual cleansing routine, nothing seems to be happening. Your skin is still getting worse and worse. Sound familiar? We've all been there. I find that when my skin gets bad it just keeps playing on my mind, to the point where I can't think about anything else. Well today I've decided to share what I've learnt about spot treatments. There is so many on the market, some affordable but some really pricey. Today i'm going to tell you which from the range I tried actually worked.

This is definitely the cheapest of all spot treatments I've tried at 99p and actually was one of the best. When I say one of the best I don't mean I put it on a spot and the next day it was gone, I mean it gradually had an effect. Out of all the products I've tried none have worked miracles. This is a small 8ml tube but for the price it's still great value for money. Since I started dabbling with skincare I've came to realise which scents I like and dislike. I must say i'm not very fond of tea tree. it reminds me of that head-lice treatment you used to get when you were a kid. (I never had lice by the way!) but it smells just like that. Apart from the scent that isn't that bad, some people may actually like it, this product does work. It has salicylic acid, witch hazel and of course tea tree which have all been proven to clear skin. I see improvements on my skin when I use this at night as soon as I wake up the next morning. This product might work wonders on your skin or it possibly could show no effect as everyone's skin is different. But at 99p, I'd give it a go!

2 - Witch Blemish Stick

This was a product that I'd wanted to try for ages as their skincare seemed to be in every shop and in everyone's skincare routine. I'd told myself that this product would transform my skin, but unfortunately it did the opposite. I found shortly after using this product on my breakouts it just made them worse and worse. At the time when I purchased this blemish stick i'd never tried anything with witch hazel and so I thought it would be a skin 'game changer' but it really wasn't. To be quite honest I don't see how this product is supposed to do any good in the first place as the product as described comes in a stick form, the packaging indicates that you dab the stick on your spots. But surely that is just spreading bacteria from one spot to another, hence why all my breakouts got worse. But regardless I wasn't going to write it off after only a week so I continued using the stick for around a month and my skin was at its worst. It was dry, sore and a little irritated. So that's when I finally decided to chuck the stick from my skincare routine and I immediately saw a difference. So in my case I would pass this product at your next skincare shopping spree as I really don't think it's worth the hype.

3 - Clean & Clear Advantage Spot Control Treatment Gel
As I mentioned in my product basket post, this product was so hyped up. If you look at any spot clearing articles or videos I guarantee this gel will be featured in it. This was also a let down. Either I have the strangest, most stubborn skin or these products just don't live up to their reputation. In all fairness I did see an effect but not to the extent I expected. It did what every other treatment does. It calmed my spots down until they left, then brought more. It claims to get to work in 4 hours but I honestly couldn't see a difference until the next day. And for the price I wouldn't recommend it.

4 - Skin System Clear Skin Spot Gel

When I first bought this product I absolutely loved it. I saw a big difference in any spot I applied it to and in no time it was gone. I applied this morning and night and swore by it. I was telling everyone that they needed to pick it up. But after a few months of using it I noticed that it did less and less for my spots. It came to a stage where I didn't even see a difference from using this, so I think my skin just adapted to its ingredients. I haven't seen this product in Asda for a long time so maybe it was discontinued, but if you ever stumble across it, i'd give it a go and see what results it has on your skin. I'm afraid this gel isn't on Asda's website so I couldn't link it.

5 - The Skin System Overnight Blemish Serum

I was in Asda one night and I saw that they had a new range in. So me being my addicted to buying everything skincare related self, bought most of the range. This and the 3 in 1 product mentioned in my last post were my favourite. I used this alongside the last product at night to clear my skin. Just like the last product I found that this ended up doing nothing and adding time to my skincare routine that wasn't necessary. This product also isn't on Asda's website.

Thank you all for reading this post. And I know it's late! I had all the pictures taken and edited but then I decided that I wasn't happy with them, so I retook them that's why I'm a few days late. I said on my last post that I couldn't get my pictures to stay full size on my posts. So I looked on google for a solution and thankfully found one straight away. I'll leave a link to the website in which I found the picture solution.

Disclaimer: All of the reviews I've given on all these products are based on my personal experience with them. We all have different skin types and all our skin will react differently with every product we try. Just because they didn't or did work for me doesn't they won't or will work on your skin.

I hope you have a lovely weekend,
